ONLINE REGISTRATION means you never have to miss a class again! You can pre-pay online with a credit card or stop into the shop and use cash or check. You can register far in advance and know that we never use the fees until 3 days prior to the class. If we cancel a class, your fee is promptly refunded in kind. If you are unable to attend, please send a friend as fees are non-refundable within 3 days of the class.
Every effort is made to begin on time so please arrive early if you need to shop for supplies. Our classroom is equipped with spring water, refrigerator, microwave, & oven. Help yourself to tea, coffee, drinks and munchies. Feel free to bring something with you or order take out from our convenient local restaurants.
Scheduling conflict? If our date doesn’t work for you, ask about adding another date or, better yet, grab two friends and we will schedule the class just for you! Or ask to be added to our “Class Wish List” and we’ll email you when your favorite project is scheduled.
Private Lessons are the perfect alternative for beaders with a busy schedule or anyone who really enjoys individualized attention. Pick out the project or technique you would like to learn and we’ll find a convenient time to work with you. Up to 2 beaders can share a private lesson and the hourly rate applies to both students. Call or stop in to discuss this great option.
Private Beading parties can be held in our comfortable classroom. The host chooses the project and we will prepare kits for your guests that fit the budget. This is perfect opportunity to make bridal party jewelry… celebrate a birthday… get together with friends from work or make holiday gifts with family. You bring food and drink and we’ll do the rest to help create a fun evening where every one leaves with finished jewelry. Call us for details.

Metal & Crystal Bangle (LA101)
Have you been wanting to work with the beautiful metal seed beads? Here’s a fun project that combines metal with some bling and works up fairly quickly. We will create a right angle weave base, then zip it up into a tube, adding crystals along one edge. We’ll go over tips and tricks working with these beads along the way.

'Beads in Clay' Gathering (BH402)
Clay beads have always been made in abundance. Throughout history, both men and women have proudly made and worn all sorts of beads. Making beads in ceramic clays is a skill which is easy to perfect – one that is limited only by the imagination and expertise of the maker.
In our Beads-in-Clay monthly 4th Sunday gatherings at The Bead Cellar we learn to form BEADS FROM THE PAST as well as HOLLOW, BUTTON & RATTLE BEADS out of various colors of earthenware clay. Our earthy creations are left raw or finished with terra sigillata, a liquid clay coating.
In addition to our regular monthly workshop, students taking the 'It's A Wrap' class on March 19, 2011 can join Barbara to create their own 2 sided cabochon!

“O MY” Necklace (SC201)
You will learn to create a wire and coil circle focal with an inside loop to dangle from. Then, you will fashion your own headpins for multi colored pearls and make wrapped loops on each, attaching them to the focal. Finally, we will string it using rubber tubes and Sterling Silver accents, creating a design that can be earthy or elegant. This focal design would also make great earrings!

Stamped Necklace (SC204)
You will love making this necklace! We will begin by sawing out the pendant shape, filing and punching the hole. Then you will use metal letter stamps to stamp the message of your choice on the pendant (so start thinking now!). Next we will create the bar bail and coil and liver of sulfur to finish. Finally, we will form and bead the center of the necklace, hammering the 'V'. It will all come together as we add chain, clasp and accent beads. So, we will be doing a little bit of everything! Come have fun!

Sterling Silver Stamped 'Mother's' Necklace (SC207)
Create this simple and elegant 'Mother's' necklace using metal stamps on sterling silver blanks. You will stamp your child's name on the blank, punch a hole, dome and hang from the sterling silver chain. As a final touch, you will add a wire wrapped Swarovski crystal in the color of your child's birthstone. Make a disk for each of your children and hang them together!
This is a delicate piece - the disk is less than an inch in diameter and the sterling silver ball chain is 1.5mm.

A wavy peyote necklace by Annette Mackrel in Bead & Button’s April 2010 issue sparked Johanna’s imagination for a SJBS Bead Soup project.

'The Vic' Necklace (SK205)

Etched Pendant (AH401)
In this basic workshop on metal etching, students will draw their own design or pattern on a brass disc and then etch it with acid to give the surface an over-all texture. Look familiar? These are Johanna's holiday gift creations a few of us are wearing and many of you asked how to make! They look complicated and weighty, don't they? Actually, they are surprisingly easy to make and so light you'll hardly feel them on! Learn a Graduated Box Knit Chain Maille pattern. Make each pair unique by changing the dangling bead or using a charm instead. With a little patience towards the top, this is a perfect project for beaders and/or wireworkers new to Chain Maille.
